Florida Veterans Call Center
Overview

211 Big Bend is part of a statewide program of  211 providers that is dedicated to helping Florida veterans.

Our state has the third largest veteran population in the nation with 1,755,680 veterans calling Florida home. 211 Big Bend is working in conjunction with the Florida Department of Veterans Affairs and the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay to provide a help-line where veterans can receive both emotional support and linkages to community resources.

-Emotional support provided by trained professionals.

Who Will I Talk To?

How do you help people who call you?

Veterans Lyft Rides

Our Lyft program provides Leon County residents with one free round-trip ride each month to connect with food pantries, healthcare appointments, or for employment needs including rides to job interviews, career counseling such as through CareerSource, connection to state benefits, replacing an ID, and more.

U.S. military Veteran riders who have been approved through the process described below are eligible for two additional rides per month and can also use rides for transportation to and from the VA in addition to the places listed above.

Veteran riders must provide proof of Veteran status by taking a photo of the front of their Veteran ID card and sending it to our team by one of these three methods:

Once Veterans provide this onetime proof of Veteran status, they will then be added to our list of approved riders and will be eligible for two additional rides each month.
